Meet Noelle

Hello. My name is Noelle Bales. I am amazed! That is the word. I am amazed at who God is, what He is doing in my life, and His enduring faithfulness and His love for me.

It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness. The Lord is my portion or share, says my living being (my inner self); therefore will I hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him. ~ Lamentations 3:22-24 (AMPC)

My Story

I was raised by loving, Christian parents who are both home now with the Lord. I accepted Jesus at the young age of 4 years old. I have since re-committed and grown in my relationship with Him.

About 20 years ago, God blessed me with my husband Dan. We met on a blind date through mutual friends. At that time, he was not a Christian. He had been to Vacation Bible School so he knew about God. I had a strong circle of spiritual advisors around me as I got to know Dan.  I knew we couldn’t have much of a relationship without him accepting Jesus as Savior. I also knew God was doing something special. I prayed so much for him and didn’t want him to accept the Lord because of romantic reasons. One day Dan was visiting while I was working at the radio station. He stepped outside for a few minutes. As I started follow him, the Holy Spirit stopped me. He said very clearly, “Leave him alone, he is praying through.” Within a few minutes he came back in and said that he had “prayed through.” I was so amazed because he chose the exact words that the Holy Spirit said to me. “Praying through” is a more old-time way to describe it, but God got the message to me that eternal business was going on between them. I needed to give Dan space to make that decision on his own. Dan has such a loving and tender heart. I am often simply amazed to see God working in him. God chose him for me, and I am truly thankful.

God called me into radio ministry during my high school days. I do remember even as child pretending to be a DJ. I did have a tough time with the thought of talking live on the air. Earlier on, I was in training at a station, and I had a moment of crisis.  I froze up on the air. I got up and walked out of the station. I just wanted to get away. It was dark, and I didn’t even really know where I was going. I ended up in a church parking lot under a street lamp. I said, God if You want me a be a DJ, You are going to have to make me a DJ. I am not even sure how or when it happened, but He did it. I still get nervous, but He helps me through that. I want nothing more than to play the right song or say the right words to touch someone when they need it most. I am amazed that He chooses to use me that way.

I believe this type of ministry is powerful because the air waves can reach where we can’t always be physically. As the technology grows and develops, we find new ways to send light into the dark. My personal ministry of Searchlight Production’s mission to seek the One who lights the way, corresponds to NHCC mission of lighting the way. (I rearranged that sentence a bit.) My education and degree are in the area of Communication.

Over the years, I have experienced health issues. God has taken care of me through blood clots and breathing issues following major surgeries. He truly is my reason for breathing and continuing to be. I have also dealt with anxiety and depression. A few years ago, I stepped into a dark time and my rheumatologist encouraged me to get counseling. I agreed as long as it was biblically based. God led me to New Hope. The care and training that I received was exactly what I needed. God began to heal me in a process that is on-going. I have learned that sometimes I need to be still long enough to let the Holy Spirit do the work. I have to trust His way and timing.

'Cause I brought it up in a desperate prayer
Lord, why are you keeping me here?
Then He said to me, "Child, I'm planting seeds
I'm a good God and I have a good plan"
So trust that I'm holding a watering can
And someday you'll see that flowers grow in the valley ~ Flowers by Samantha Ebert

My prayer for many years has been and continues to be that I am the Noelle that He intends for me to be. I believe God has been preparing me in my wilderness for my new position here at NHCC as well as simply living my life in Him. I believe we at NHCC are here for such a time as this as in the story of Esther.
